SiteGround Cloud CDN Beta Released

On March 16, US hosting provider SiteGround released a cloud-based content delivery network (CDN) beta test version called SiteGround CDN Beta. The CDN service is fully hosted in the cloud. It combines SiteGround's centralized DNS and Its high-speed anycast routing technology directs website visitor requests to the nearest website CDN location for lower latency.

SiteGround CDN acceleration service is now available for free testing. After tenants log in to the website management panel, they can add the CDN layer to the website with just a few clicks (Site Tools -> Speed ​​-> CDN section), but it is only applicable on the main domain name. The official version of SiteGround CDN will be launched in two plans - basic plan and paid plan, with different functions. Currently, all tenants who activate the SiteGround CDN beta have access to the full feature list and can continue to use it for free for 3 months after the beta period ends.

• Almost all overseas cloud server configuration products of SiteGround’s computer rooms can use CDN acceleration services. Tenants can choose to cache the static and dynamic content of the website. By default, cached copies of dynamically generated pages of the website can be provided instantly, not just Static content;
• SiteGround CDN supports setting different cache TTL (time to live);
• The SiteGround CDN development model allows tenants to bypass caching and obtain new content from the website's host server instead of the CDN. Therefore, when the tenant changes the website, there is no need to open and close the CDN service every time;
• SiteGround CDN also has an always-on feature. Even if the website application fails for some reason, the CDN server will continue to deliver cached pages.
