Free CDN registration and no need to register to use Incapsula Asian CDN Japan, Hong Kong and many places

Incapsula has been providing free CDN services for a long time. It is relatively rare to provide nodes in Asia, Japan and Hong Kong. For us, it is a good node that we are looking for. So, share it.

1. Register and add domain name

For this article, I specially applied for the domain name runcpp.tk as a demonstration.

1. I won’t go into details about the registration method. After successful registration, enter your domain name as prompted. After passing the check, you can proceed to the next step. Then Incapsula will give the A record and CNAME record.

2. You need to go to the DNS management office of your domain name and change the A record of the domain name to the IP given to you by Incapsula (usually there are two), and change the www record of the domain name to the CNAME record given to you by Incapsula.

3. After completing the above operations, you can click to complete the settings. After Incapsula detects that the DNS of your domain name has been updated successfully, you can check and manage your CDN in Incapsula.

2. Introduction to Incapsula’s general functions

Select your domain name and click [setting] on the right to set up your CDN. Common functions include:

1. View CDN traffic statistics, security, CDN performance, management logs, etc.

2. Check the CDN’s source server IP address and modify the IP address

3. Set domain name jumps with and without www. Using this function, you no longer need to set 301 jumps in Htaccess.

4. Whether to display promotional advertisements, DNS record details of the website’s original DNS and CDN, etc. If not set, Incapsula will display ads on your website. (Ads cannot be deleted)

5. Login protection function. For websites with user account system login pages, this function can effectively protect the security of the account. Add the URL of the page you want to use Incapsula login protection, and then when the user visits this page Authorization is required

6. CDN caching modes are also provided to choose from: off, standard and advanced modes

7. ncapsula will also compress static files such as JS, CSS, Html, etc. to speed up page loading. You can selectively turn them off.

8. There are also some advanced CDN cache settings, such as HTTP header no-cache, Max-age, Last Modified and other protocols. You can choose whether to follow them in Incapsula.

3. Set up Japan and Hong Kong CDN nodes

Using Incapsula's Asian nodes is also very simple. Just find Incapsula's Asian node IP, go to our domain name management and change the IP address. For Incapsula's node IP, you can search for it at https://bgp.he.net Incapsula's AS number: AS19551 found. As shown below

I randomly give two IPs here, [103.28.249.20] [103.28.248.20]. Just change the IP address pointed to by our previous domain name and wait for it to take effect.

Of course, among Incapsula's many Japanese and Hong Kong IPs, some are fast and some are slow, so we need to test the choice ourselves.

If you feel that two A records are not enough, you can also set a few more by yourself.
