Now that the policy is coming, we still have ways to deal with it, or we can just go with it and adjust website strategies and domain name registrars. Some of the following personal suggestions and opinions are purely personal thoughts. We need to select registrars and adjust current policies based on the actual application process.

First, abide by the rules of the game

Judging from the current rules, if we register or transfer a domain name after July 18, real-name authentication is required. Previously registered domain names do not currently require verification, but Snail (laozuo.org) has a domain name from mainland China. You can see in the registrar's backend that, for example, the Alibaba Cloud Wanwang account backend already has a corresponding template menu. In the future, we should need to change all our previous domain names and add them to the already certified templates.

So, whether we have a .CN domain name or a later .COM/.NET domain name, if we want to place it in mainland China, or if our website does not have unreasonable content, there will not be much registrar in mainland China. Question, certification is certification.

Second, select and transfer overseas registrar

Currently this policy is only available to domain name registrars in mainland China. If we do not want real-name authentication, or our domain name website content may have some controversial content, then we must choose overseas domain name registrars. If there are any in China Domain names from mainland registrars can be transferred out by transferring to overseas registrars. Common overseas domain name merchants commonly used by Snail include Namecheap, Godaddy, Name.com, NameSilo, Dynadot and other merchants.

Of course, we do not rule out whether overseas domain name registrars will also need to require personal verification information through specific policies in the future. This is not currently available, and we will consider it when we encounter it in the future. For users who don’t have controversial content, there won’t be much of a problem.

Third, standardization of website content

The introduction of various policies, on the one hand, requires most netizens to constantly standardize website content, including the content review mechanisms of some interactive platforms, and also the strictness of our spontaneous content. On the other hand, there may be some trouble for some users with controversial content. In any case, as the Internet continues to standardize, as pure individual webmasters, we ourselves still need to standardize the rationality of content. Although there are high returns in some industries and content, there are bound to be certain risks.
