I shared with you "PuTTY Download Address Sharing and Introduction to Different Client Functions" before. Some friends may have downloaded putty.exe and don't know how to use it. Today I will introduce you to how to use PuTTY to remotely connect to Linux VPS and share one Detailed graphic tutorial.
1. Download PuTTY
The first step is to download PuTTY. The client used to connect to the VPS remotely is putty.exe. For the download address and introduction to each version of the client, please refer to "PuTTY Download Address Sharing and Introduction to Different Client Functions"

1. View VPS information
When connecting to a Linux VPS host remotely, the first thing you need to determine is the remote information of your host, including the host IP address, remote (SSH) port number, username and password.
Generally speaking, the host IP address will be written clearly in the host details. If the SSH port number is not specified, it is usually 22. If the user name is not specified, it is usually root. If the password is not specified in the details, it will usually be sent to you by email.
2. Create a new connection
After downloading PuTTY, run putty.exe, enter the host address (IP) and SSH port, select the SSH connection type, set the connection session name and click Save, then click the Open button to start the connection login:
3. Save host fingerprint
If this is the first time you use PuTTY to connect to this VPS, PuTTY will prompt you to save the host fingerprint. Just click "Yes". After saving, you will not be prompted again when you connect again:
4. Connection successful
Enter the connection information (username and password) and click Enter to confirm the connection. As shown in the figure below, you have successfully connected to the VPS using PuTTY:
The above is how to use PuTTY to connect to a Linux VPS. PuTTY is a widely used SSH client on Windows. It is open source and free. Another commonly used SSH client is Xshell. I have also shared related tutorials before: " Xshell usage tutorial: Use Xshell to connect to Linux》
