Tutorial on directly upgrading ESXI6.7 to 7.0 through the command line

The latest ESXI has recently been released to 7.0. I believe everyone is ready to upgrade and experience it. No more nonsense, let’s get straight to the point:

1. Conditions for upgrading: Be sure to see clearly, otherwise the time cost will be huge if you play it wrong!
2. Steps:
①Enable SSH. As shown in the figure

②Download the latest offline firmware package:
The address is as follows:

After downloading, transfer it to the ESXI storage:

③After uploading, log in to the esxi backend through ssh.
After successful login, enter:
cd /vmfs/volumes/5c9bf508-925a81c5-8aa9-40623106c271
Jump to the ESXI storage you just stored (How do you know 5c9bf508-925a81c5-8aa9-40623106c271? As shown below)

Then enter: ls
Check if the file package just uploaded exists:

Now sure everything is ready:

esxcli software sources profile list -d /vmfs/volumes/5c9bf508-925a81c5-8aa9-40623106c271/VMware-ESXi-7.0.0-15843807-depot.zip

esxcli software profile update -p ESXi-7.0.0-15843807-standard -d /vmfs/volumes/5c9bf508-925a81c5-8aa9-40623106c271/VMware-ESXi-7.0.0-15843807-depot.zip –dry-run

esxcli software profile update -p ESXi-7.0.0-15843807-standard -d /vmfs/volumes/5c9bf508-925a81c5-8aa9-40623106c271/VMware-ESXi-7.0.0-15843807-depot.zip

reboot

Execute the above 4 commands respectively. The system will be fine after restarting

Upgrading is risky, please make a backup in advance!
