Windows VPS Tutorial Series No. 12: Use IIS to quickly add a site and build a website

In the previous series of Windows VPS tutorials written by Snail, I shared how to use the N-point management system to build a site. In fact, it is equivalent to setting up a WEB management panel on WIN VPS and then adding sites, databases and other management websites through the panel. When we use Linux vps, we all know that installing software such as panels will increase the memory of the server, which will inevitably reduce the available resources and performance of the website. The best way is to try not to use panel management. If the machine is used by yourself We can use IIS to add the site. If there is a MYSQL database, it can be added through PHPMYADMIN.

The first step is to open IIS management

See the picture above, right-click \\"Website\\"-\\"New\\"-\\"Website\\" to enter the Settings Add Site Wizard;

The second step is to set the website description

The website description is used to let us easily see which website it belongs to. When the website is built, we can see which directory belongs to which website in the IIS list.

The third step is to configure the website domain name

Set the host header, which is the domain name we need to bind.

The fourth step is to select the directory where the website is located

Snail first created the laozuo.org site in the D drive directory to store the website. Here we will find the website directory by browsing;

The fifth step is to set website permissions

Set permissions for websites and directories, and they must be allowed to be read. If you need to execute ASP or PHP scripts, you still need to give them a choice. Others are selected as needed.

Finally, after completing the wizard step by step, we can resolve the IP address of this WIN VPS in the domain name panel. After it takes effect, we can access the web page files in the bound directory through the domain name.
