Many parts of the VPS hosting products we webmasters choose are not for building websites, but for various tossing needs. Yesterday, Snail saw a netizen sharing in LOC about setting up a WIN XP system in a centos environment. I happened to be compiling tutorials on this aspect a few days ago, but I used debian to build it. There are many similar tutorials on the Internet. The tutorials are generally complete but the data source is basically invalid. Fortunately, I found that the XP data source on FREEHAO123 can be used, so I adjusted the script data source and shared it. Snail does not guarantee the integrity of its data source. If it fails, you can leave me a message or find the winxp.img data source and download it yourself.

The first step, installation environment

wget https://soft.laozuo.org/scripts/debianxp.shsh debianxp.sh

The Linux vps system in the tutorial I demonstrated is Debian 6 32-bit.

You need to enter the vncserver setting password twice during execution. Then press Enter to download the winxp image package, which is more than 800 MB, so you need to wait for a while.

After downloading in the above step, it will automatically REBOOT to restart the VPS. After restarting, we can use the local computer to remotely log in to the desktop.

Step 2, remote desktop configuration

After logging in to the remote desktop, you need to enter the administrator account and password. Because the data source image was previously online, the password is shown in the picture above. If you need other systems, you can make your own IMG image package.

After the configuration is completed, you will see the familiar XP desktop. The speed depends on the configuration and speed of your machine.
