Many foreign hosting providers provide the AlmaLinux system. This is a new Linux system, a Linux distribution from CloudLinux. It is intended to replace CentOS and is compatible with RHEL. It is developed and mainly maintained by CloudLinux. I have a Banwagonhost VPS in my hand, taking Banwagonhost as an example. The operations of other VPS are almost the same. AlmaLinux is a free and open source Linux distribution originally created by CloudLinux to provide a community-supported, production-ready enterprise-class operating system that is binary compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). The first stable version of AlmaLinux was released on March 30, 2021.
On December 8, 2020, Red Hat announced that it would stop developing CentOS, which is a free downstream branch of the commercial version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and shorten its official support to concentrate on the development of CentOS Stream, which is Red Hat HATS is used to preview official rolling releases of content intended to be included in RHEL updates.
In response, CloudLinux, the company that maintains its own commercial Linux distribution (CloudLinux OS), created AlmaLinux, a community-supported spiritual successor to CentOS designed to be binary compatible with current RHEL. The first beta version of AlmaLinux was released on February 1, 2021, and the first stable version was released on March 30, 2021. AlmaLinux 8.x will be supported until 2029. On March 30, 2021, the AlmaLinux OS Foundation was established and took over the development and governance of AlmaLinux from CloudLinux Company. CloudLinux Company also committed to providing US$1 million in annual funding for the AlmaLinux project.
The name of this distribution comes from the Latin word "alma", meaning "soul", as a tribute to the Linux community.
This project is supported by organizations such as AWS, ARM, cPanel and Plesk. Currently, almost all foreign VPS hosting merchants have provided AlmaLinux systems.

Method 1: Reinstall the system directly
In Install new OS, just select the first almalinux and reinstall it.
Method 2: Install by mounting the image
Select almalinux in Mount ISO to reinstall.
How to choose between AlmaLinux and rockylinux?
Rocky Linux is also an alternative to CentOS. Like AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux came into being because CentOS announced that it would stop development. It was started by Gregory Kurtzer, the original founder of CentOS, and driven by the community. You can choose Rocky Linux for system reinstallation and system mounting. In fact, the two are almost the same at present, and they are free like CentOS. The main difference is how their code is maintained. AlmaLinux is built and maintained by developers at CloudLinux, the company that has been building and maintaining its in-house distribution of CloudLinux OS for over a decade. It is easy to switch to AlmaLinux and Rockylinux from CentOS systems.
