Looking at the title, you might think it’s really weird, hehe, but it’s true, malicious negative reviews have always existed. This is a gray area, and this happens on most e-commerce platforms now!

On the evening of June 14, in response to media reports about "Taobao sellers flying to visit to ask for correction of negative reviews," the relevant person in charge of Taobao's customer service and security department said that this incident was caused by platform sellers encountering "malicious buyers." According to previous media reports, on May 1st and 5th, a Wuhan buyer Mr. Chen purchased two mobile phones from Mr. Xu’s online store and gave them a negative and a neutral review. On May 23, the seller, Mr. Xu, took a flight from Shenzhen and traveled thousands of miles to Wuhan, begging to delete his comments, and reported to the local police station that the buyer, Mr. Chen, was extorting money, which attracted attention.

In response to this incident, the relevant person in charge of Taobao's customer service and security department confirmed that this incident was caused by a platform seller encountering a "malicious buyer". Taobao said that based on a quick investigation on the Taobao big data platform, the following results were obtained: In addition to the account number left by Mr. Xu’s mobile phone purchase from Mr. Xu’s online store, Mr. Chen, who the seller Mr. Xu was looking for, also registered two other different accounts. These three accounts purchased 7 identical mobile phones from three different merchants on May 1st, 5th and 14th respectively, and all gave negative reviews. An account controlled under his name even received 14 complaints from merchants, and was suspected of being a "malicious buyer."

The relevant person in charge of Taobao said that according to the information uploaded by other sellers who had previously complained about this "malicious buyer", the Wuhan buyer in this incident, Mr. Chen, was suspected of directly giving the seller a discount without receiving the goods. Comment.

The relevant person in charge of Taobao emphasized that the management of "malicious buyers" is similar to the groups of "account dealers" in hospitals and "scalpers" at train stations, and requires comprehensive management by the whole society. When encountering "malicious buyers", merchants do not need to be overly nervous and do not easily communicate with buyers with bad shopping intentions on non-Wangwang platforms. Taobao platform will be a strong backing for normal merchants. "Malicious buyers" initiate judicial proceedings, and the platform will actively provide relevant evidence to the judicial authorities. Once a "malicious buyer" is suspected of making an improper profit of more than 5,000 yuan through extortion and other methods, he may bear criminal liability.

According to reports, the Taobao platform will manage confirmed "malicious buyers" through real-name authentication, restricting their order placement, etc. "Malicious negative reviews" of "Home" will be dealt with accordingly to prevent innocent merchants from being punished for this.
