Want to know what the Shark Computer Room is like? How about the shark server? I want to know how effective the sharktech server is? Welcome to the third article in the Shark Computer Room Server Test Series. This article will give you a brief test of the independent server in sharktech's Chicago computer room, with 1Gbps shared bandwidth and unlimited traffic.

10Gbps bandwidth-unlimited traffic

Dedicated server, optional in the United States (Los Angeles, Denver), Netherlands (Amsterdam), 10Gbps bandwidth, (shared) unlimited traffic, comes with 5 IPv4, free 60Gbps DDoS defense.

Denver: sharktech: Shark Denver computer room 1Gbps bandwidth server, simple evaluation

Netherlands: sharktech: A simple evaluation of the 1Gbps bandwidth unlimited traffic server in the Dutch computer room

The test server is a dual-channel e5-2678v3, 24 cores and 48 threads, clocked at 2.5GHz; 64G memory, a 2T HDD disk, the webmaster enables BBR, and the IP belongs to sharktech's own AS.

Hardware performance

Looking at the results of the FIO test, it is still recommended that you get a smaller SSD as the system disk if necessary, and then use a cheap large HDD as the data disk.

speedtest mainland China node test reaches a maximum of 399Mbps uplink and 874Mbps downlink:

The test results of iperf3 are as follows. If you want to run at full bandwidth, you may want to buy an exclusive one:

Ping test data of more than 120 nodes in mainland China provided by ping.chinaz.com:

Departure from mainland China:

Telecommunications backbone route around Europe telia and then to North America

China Unicom uses the backbone, and it also goes around Europe and Telia to North America

Mobile CMI docking with telia

On the return trip, to China Telecom, the nodes in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou should all be Comcast, but Guangzhou didn’t notice it

On the return trip to mainland China, China Unicom is all via Comcast

On the return trip to mainland China, I didn’t notice it in Guangzhou, it should all be telia:

Finally, Unix bench, here are the single-core running scores:

To summarize: outbound GTT, TELIA, return Comcast, TELIA, Chicago is a city in the middle of the United States. Compared with sharktech's Los Angeles computer room, there is still a big gap in accessing China Telecom, China Unicom and other lines. Doing website front-end, live broadcast, video streaming, etc. may not be ideal!
