On October 9, Alibaba Cloud announced that its second data center in Silicon Valley, USA, was online and is scheduled to be officially opened for operation on October 14 at the Computing Conference in Hangzhou. Currently, Alibaba Cloud has regional nodes in Beijing, Hangzhou, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Qingdao, Shanghai, Singapore, and the United States. In the future, it plans to establish new data centers in Japan, Europe, the Middle East, and other places to improve Alibaba Cloud's global network layout.

This is the ninth data center deployed by Alibaba Cloud globally and the third overseas data center announced this year. It is expected to meet the cloud computing resource needs of Alibaba Cloud users in the western United States in the next three to five years. After the data center goes online, the products provided by Alibaba Cloud's US nodes will increase to more than ten types and meet users' needs for high availability and disaster recovery.

In March this year, Alibaba Cloud launched its first data center in Silicon Valley, USA, and began to provide cloud services to users in North America and even around the world. Then in August, it announced that its data center in Singapore was officially open to radiate the Asia-Pacific regional market.

In terms of products, Alibaba Cloud said that its second data center in Silicon Valley will provide cloud server ECS, private network VPC, object storage OSS, relational database RDS, cloud monitoring, cloud shield, and open caching service OCS. , key-value storage KVStore, open structured data service OTS, messaging service, resource access management service RAM, analysis database service ADS and more than 10 products.

Data from research firm IDC show that Alibaba Cloud ranked first in China's public cloud market in 2014, with a market share of 29.7%, exceeding the combined shares of Amazon, Microsoft and IBM in the Chinese market.
