Vultr datacenter launches Korean node, which is also Vultr’s 17th data center in the world and the 3rd data center in Asia. Currently, the line from mainland China to Vultr's Korean datacenter is a direct connection from South Korea's SK. Everyone knows that the cost of bandwidth in South Korea is relatively high, but we don't know how much Vultr is prepared to sell. In this article, we will first make a simple evaluation of the Vultr Korean datacenter. In addition, the Vultr new user discount of $100 is still ongoing. If you are a new Vultr user, you can also participate.

2. Introduction to Vultr Korean datacenter

Vultr Korean datacenter is a datacenter just launched by Vultr today. It is not officially online yet (Coming Soon). After it is online, everyone will be notified in the VPS discount notification group (banned, notified only): 941160291.

3. Vultr Korean datacenter test

Under a simple test, the nationwide delay is basically around 120ms. Compared with Vultr’s US datacenter, this Korean datacenter has obvious physical location advantages and lower latency:

Line Number of nodes Fastest node slowest node average response
All 121 Shanghai (Alibaba Cloud) 50.5 milliseconds Hebei Shijiazhuang (Tianyi Cloud) 268.0 milliseconds 127.8 milliseconds
China Unicom Line 12 Guangdong Maoming (China Unicom) 77.7 milliseconds Heilongjiang Harbin (Tianyi Cloud) 161.3 milliseconds 112.5 milliseconds
Telecom lines 54 Guangdong Zhongshan (Telecom) 79.1 milliseconds Hebei Shijiazhuang (Tianyi Cloud) 268.0 milliseconds 135.1 milliseconds
Mobile lines 9 Guangdong Guangzhou (Mobile) 69.8 milliseconds Xuzhou, Jiangsu (Mobile) 168.2 milliseconds 128.9 milliseconds

Currently, I have tested the outbound route from mainland China. The route is Korean SK and does not go around Hong Kong.
