Last night Gregory Kurtzer released a rough timetable for the release of RockyLinux, and according to the discussion, it is likely to start with CentOS8:

• 1 month later: Binary package repository, mostly CentOS mirrors, but we have changed and fixed all copyrighted material
• 2 months later: We have Installers ready for testing
• 3 months and beyond: we will keep you updated and announced as they are released
• Parallel: we are building out our process for pulling sources , compile, package, test and deploy
• 4-6 months later: the full version of Rocky and the installer are ready for testing
• 6-8 months: the full release of Rocky is stable Version
• In Progress: Maintenance and bug fixes for all packages, updates, etc. The plan hopes to allow enterprises and cloud service providers to use the stable official version of RockyLinux before CentOS is discontinued and discontinued.
