Tonight, a Bwhhstatus Los Angeles data center failed, causing some users of the Bricklayer DC2 data center, DC3 data center and DC9 data center to be unable to connect to the Internet. We checked the latest news on bwhstatus and it seems that The problem has not been completely solved. If you still have the problem of being disconnected, you can wait patiently or switch to another data center.
1. Explanation of faults of brick movers
Bricklayer official website: https://bwh81.netTonight, a large-scale power outage occurred in Los Angeles, USA. Many Los Angeles data centers were out of power, such as GigsGigsCloud, DMIT, etc., and the Bricklayer Los Angeles data center also experienced malfunctions due to this power outage. Reached some users of DC2/DC3/DC9 data centers.
2. Troubleshooting progress of tile movers
The following is the processing progress of this brick-moving failure (Beijing time is 15 hours earlier than PST time):
10:21 PST We are investigating an outage affecting multiple services in Los Angeles. We will release an update soon.
10:42 PST The cause of the failure was a power outage within the Data Center. We are working with Data Center to find the root cause.
11:01 PST We have redundant power supplies on all the equipment in this (and all other) Data Center; it looks like both power supplies went offline.
Data Center confirmed the power outage but did not provide an estimate at this time.
15:26 PST: Recovery efforts are underway and approximately 80% of affected customers are back online
16:25 PST: Recovery efforts are underway and approximately 95% of affected customers are back online
16:38 PST: Most affected services have been restored, except for the following two nodes: v7404 and v7418; these hosts had component failures.
17:44 PST: Node v7418 is now online and all client VMs on this node will be started in 15 minutes.
18:54 PST: Node v7622 is showing a RAID error, we are investigating. Two nodes are currently offline: v7404 and v7622.
20:47 PST: We have located a replacement RAID adapter for the v7622 host and will be replacing it as soon as possible.
21:16 PST: Node v7404 has been fixed and all client VMs will automatically start in 20 minutes.
22:24 PST: Data Center remains overloaded with many remote support requests. We are waiting on the opportunity to queue up the RAID adapter for replacement on the v7622 host.
00:15 PST: RAID adapter replacement in progress
03:50 PST: Data Center representatives stopped responding to support requests and our upgrade requests were not resolved. We are exploring other options.
We will post updates as new information becomes available.
