When I logged into a Vultr account yesterday, it showed that the account number and password were incorrect. I clearly didn’t change the password, but I just couldn’t log in, so I chose “Forgot Password” to reset the password. Although it showed that the email was sent successfully, But in fact, I did not receive the password reset email in my mailbox, so I contacted Vultr customer service and found out that the Vultr account had been deleted.
1. Vultr account deleted
This site recently needed to re-register a Vultr account for some reasons, but I know that Vultr does not seem to allow one person to register multiple accounts at the same time. So I found another person's identity and registered a new Vultr account on another computer using a different network. This Vultr account did not attract any new Vultr users, but only used its promotional link.
The new Vultr account I registered in mid-March, but when I logged in again at the end of March, it always prompted me that the account password was incorrect. All VPSGO account passwords are managed with LastPass, so unless they were stolen, it makes sense. There may be an incorrect password. However, I still reset the password through "Forgot Password". When resetting the password, it showed that the email was sent successfully, but in fact, the email did not receive the email to reset the password, so I sent an email to contact Vultr customer service (support@vultr.com) , asking why the account password is incorrect and the email to reset the password has not been received.
Vultr's first reply said that I seem to have multiple accounts. They don't allow one person to have multiple accounts. Why do I have multiple Vultr accounts?
I thought that I registered a new Vultr account on another computer using a new network interface. Logically speaking, it cannot be associated. Moreover, I have not gathered any information about new Vultr users. It should be that the problem is not there. This website has not figured out how Vultr linked the two accounts. Different computers, a new network environment, and no payment information is bound except the registration information. Can this also be linked? And even if there is a connection, there is no need to directly ban the account without explanation. I just used the promotion link of the new account and did not do anything that violated the TOS. This is a bit too overbearing.
So I advise everyone not to register multiple Vultr accounts, otherwise the account will be deleted directly without giving you any chance to explain. However, Vultr's operation this time is still very unpleasant. It is a bit too overbearing. Once the determination has been made to close an account it cannot be reversed. Further replies to this message will not be reviewed as this decision will not be reversed .. Just delete all VPS instances and never use them again.
