Today we bought another ramnode VPS with 128M memory [Ramnode-VPS 6.5% off lifetime long-term discount]. We chose the Seattle data center (the West Coast of the United States, you know, the speed is good!), based on openvz+ssd. The reason why I bought it again is because it is reliable. It is specially used for personal blogs and nothing else. When I’m bored, I’ll give you a simple ramnode VPS review for everyone who has never played ramnode VPS as a reference! If you want to know something you can leave me a message!

With a 5G hard drive, there is still 4G left after compiling the environment, which is more than enough to play on a personal website! root@:~# df -h Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/simfs 5.0G 1.1G 4.0G 21% / tmpfs 13M 44K 13M 1% /run tmpfs 5.0M 0 5.0M 0% /run/lock tmpfs 52M 0 52M 0% /run/shm
The U of E3 1240 v2 is worthy of the audience. After running this script of freevps, everyone roughly knows the ports and I/O. It is very good that the files pulled from Japan and the United States and the United States from the Netherlands can have 10M and 4M, not to mention that this little Singapore can actually have 3.95 M. root@:~# wget freevps.us/downloads/bench.sh -O – -o /dev/null|bash CPU model: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1240 V2 @ 3.40GHz Number of cores: 1 CPU frequency: 3400.031 MHz Total amount of ram: 128 MB Total amount of swap: 128 MB System uptime: 18 minutes, Download speed from CacheFly: 102MB/s Download speed from Coloat, Atlanta GA: 29.1MB/s Download speed from Softlayer, Dallas, TX: 31.5MB/s Download speed from Linode, Tokyo, JP: 10.1MB/s Download speed from i3d.net, NL: 4.30MB/s Download speed from Leaseweb, Haarlem, NL: 8.09MB/s Download speed from Softlayer, Singapore: 3.95MB/s Download speed from Softlayer, Seattle, WA: 59.9MB/s Download speed from Softlayer, San Jose, CA: 62.5MB/s Download speed from Softlayer, Washington, DC: 36.0MB/s I/O speed: 841 MB/s
Don’t look at openvz with 128M of memory, its performance is no worse than these big names:
