The server/VPS/cloud host has an error when executing wget "wget: unable to resolve host address"

When using the RakSmart server to download files for testing, a problem like "wget: unable to resolve host address" occurs because the line where the server is located and the IP address we need to connect are not connected, just like sometimes we ourselves The computer cannot access some websites. The solution is to change the local DNS. This problem may occur for some vps hosts or cloud servers. For example, the Alibaba Cloud server cannot install the WDCP panel, which is also caused by Alibaba Cloud's local DNS being blocked, so the DNS needs to be modified.

First, modify the DNS configuration file

Log in to SSH on our current server/VPS, and then open the /etc/resolv.conf file

Second, modify DNS

Replace all the content inside with the following content, save and exit the current file and try wget again. This will basically solve the problem!

nameserver 8.8.8.8
nameserver 8.8.4.4
