There is a SoYouStart dedicated server, which is given 1 IP. If you need to open some VMs and share resources, each VM will have an independent IP, which will make the operation much more convenient.

1. OVH/SoYouStart applies for IP 1. Applying for IP is relatively simple. Enter the backend, click IP, then click Order IPs on the left, select the number of IPs you need, and purchase and pay.

After payment, you need to verify the information, one is your personal ID card, driver's license and other information, and the other is to verify the payment address (the Paypal payment information I used has the address in it, which needs to be consistent with the information in the OVH/SoYouStart account)< /p>

2. Create a virtual MAC address. The newly applied IP in the background, with the Unblocked logo behind it, is an available IP. Click the lock button at the back to set the virtual MAC address

After that, the virtual MAC address corresponding to the IP will appear. Any chickens (VMs) created later need to be bound to this MAC address.

In the email that opens the IP, there will be gateway, subnet mask and other information.

2. Windows server 2012 used to create the chicken (VM) server using Hyper-V, using the chicken (VM) created by Hyper-V. 1. Install Hyper-V under Windows Server 2012 using Server Manager - Add Role - Hyper-v, foolproof installation (where Ethernet is selected for networking)

2. Use Hyper-V to create a VM. Open Hyper-V, click New - Virtual Machine on the right, and follow the instructions to set the configuration.

You must choose the right network, otherwise the VM will not be able to connect to the Internet

Download the operating system in advance and then install it directly

3. Set the VM IP. After the VM is created, it is in a shutdown state. Select the VM to be edited in Hyper-V and click Settings on the right to perform virtual MAC settings

Virtual switch set up

Set the MAC address (at OVH/SoYouStart, the MAC address corresponding to the IP that needs to be bound)

After the chicken (VM) starts, connect (right-click on the chicken, there will be startup and connection options)

Then install the operating system (same as normal installation, take installing win7 as an example)

In the VM system (taking win7 as an example), open the Network and Sharing Center and click Local Area Connection

Click Properties to set IPv4

The following are the IP, gateway, dns and other settings (the IP address is the IP corresponding to the virtual MAC set in the OVH/SoYouStart background, the subnet mask is the Netmask in the email, the gateway is the Gateway IP in the email, the preferred DNS is fixed , is 213.186.33.99)

This will set the chicken (VM) IP.
