When S4 is repairing the cable, S1S has not completed the cable repair. In the case of double break, the following direction circuits are affected: Beijing - United States, Shanghai - United States, Shanghai - Japan, Shanghai - South Korea, Shanghai - Canada, Shanghai - Taiwan, Fujian - Taiwan, Guangdong - United States, Guangdong - South Korea, Hong Kong - United States, Hong Kong - Japan, Singapore - United States. There are 51 100G circuits, 91 10G circuits, 1 5G circuit, 1 3G circuit, 17 2.5G circuits, 12 1G circuits, and dedicated lines are not counted.

The planned cable repair date for TPE submarine cable S4 is 10/12, and the estimated cable repair time for TPE submarine cable S1S is: 2018/10/19-2018/10-22.

In the early morning of October 17, TNS and SHT had completed the fiber removal work. However, due to a problem with RING21, the RING switching on RING21 failed, so the SDH circuit running on RING21 was affected. SDH services on other RINGs are switched to standby. CN2 is completely cut off from Guangzhou and Shanghai to Los Angeles, leaving only 40G support from Shanghai to SJC.
