I received the latest subscription news from digitalocean (2011~), which contains the second-generation AMD EPYC™ processors and the new NVMe series VPS that I am interested in. Currently, it seems that they are only available in New York 3 and San Francisco 3. It is available in Zone 1 and Frankfurt Zone 1. Others such as the United Kingdom, Singapore, and India are expected to wait and be deployed one after another.

Let’s take everyone, especially those who have never followed digitalocean, for a walk. First, create a small raindrop:

Select the operating system. Digitalocean does not provide windows, but you can choose Custom images to achieve this requirement, and it is free:

What we are going to test today is the AMD series of VPS. Currently, only the Basic series is available, and the CPUs of this series are all shared types, followed by "universal type, CPU optimized type, memory optimized type, and large hard disk storage type" All are "exclusive" CPUs:

Whether you want to add block storage depends on your own needs:

Select a data center:

If you don’t know how to play or use the VPC network, you will leave it alone by default:

Enable IPv5, user data, monitoring?

Do you plan to create an SSH key or use the root password directly?

How many VPS do you plan to create at one time? It can be increased or decreased! Add a different hostname to the VPS:

Add tags, projects, and whether to choose backup (charged):

After the VPS is opened, it is roughly as follows: the functions are very powerful, basically everything you can use is here

Private network and firewall settings:

I want to see the CPU type impatiently, but I can’t see it. According to official information:

AMD Premium Droplets currently run second generation 2nd Generation AMD EPYC processors, based upon the “Zen 2” architecture, which feature what's commonly referred to as the Rome architecture. These AMD EPYC CPUs operate at a base frequency of 2.0 GHz and a max turbo frequency of 3.35 GHz.

The 2nd generation AMD EPYC™ has a main frequency of 2.0GHz and dynamic acceleration up to 3.35GHz. The webmaster speculates that it may be "AMD EPYC™ 7702", which has 64 cores and 128 threads...

1600MB/s hard disk I/O, NVMe SSD, follow the normal operation of digitalocean, it used to be raid5, but now I don’t know:

FIO will test it again, it’s still awesome:

The nodes in mainland China tested the uplink and downlink bandwidth of the VPS. It is estimated that the uplink should not be less than 2Gbps and the downlink should not be less than 10Gbps. However, it is a pity that it uses NTT (we will see it later). Mainland China Network Can't run:

Asian countries and regions are also unable to run, and they are not ideal:

Europe and the United States can basically run 1Gbps:

Data provided by ping.chinaz.com in Mainland China:

Outbound journey from mainland China: Telecom backbone network docking with NTT, China Unicom backbone network docking with Tata Communications, China Mobile CMI docking with telia

Return trip:

Telecom, Level3 China Unicom, telia China Mobile, direct connection

I’ll add pictures later, go out for a walk first.
