Sharktech (Shark Computer Room), as a very well-known old brand computer room in the United States, has always been famous for its own DDoS defense. As the Chinese market becomes larger and larger, and there are more and more customers, Sharktech Computer Room is also connected to China. Telecom, China Unicom, China Mobile lines. Due to budget issues, I have never had the opportunity to test it. Here I have a 10Gbps bandwidth promotional server from the Shark Los Angeles computer room. I will test it for everyone. I hope that the data shared will be useful to you!
10Gbps bandwidth-unlimited traffic
Dedicated server, optional in the United States (Los Angeles, Denver), Netherlands (Amsterdam), 10Gbps bandwidth, (shared) unlimited traffic, comes with 5 IPv4, free 60Gbps DDoS defense.
Computer room | CPU | Memory | Hard disk | Price | Purchase |
Los Angeles | e3-1270v2 | 16G | 2T HDD | $299/month | Link |
Los Angeles | 2*e5-2670v2 | 32G | 2T HDD | $399/month | Link |
Denver | e3-1270v2 | 16G | 2T HDD | $279/month | Link |
Netherlands | e3-1270v2 | 16G | 2T HDD | $255/month | Link |
Netherlands | 2*e5-2670v2 | 32G | 2T HDD | $311/month | Link |
All evaluations of the four major computer rooms:
Los Angeles: https:// /42836.html
Chicago: https:// /42914.html
Denver: https:// /43013.html
Netherlands: https:// /42878.html
The test machine is a dual-channel e5-2670v2 (20 cores, 40 threads), 64G memory, 2T HDD, an Ubuntu system is installed, the webmaster has enabled BBR, and the hard disk I/O is approximately 115MB:
The FIO test is a bit miserable. A regular HDD is definitely not as good as a 10,000-rpm or 15,000-rpm SAS, let alone SSD or NVMe. So if necessary, if you buy a machine, it is recommended to make the main disk smaller. It doesn’t matter if you use SSD or NVMe as the data disk, and then use HDD as the data disk:
The following is a script modified by the webmaster. It mainly uses the mainland China node of speedtest and adds multiple nodes of the three networks to test the upstream bandwidth and downlink bandwidth of the server. These are all single-threaded. We can see that the uplink bandwidth in mainland China can reach up to 564Mbps, and the downlink bandwidth can reach up to 5362Mbps:
iperf3 runs in Europe and the United States, with a maximum uplink of 9.36Gbps and a maximum of 8.95Gbps for downlink:
Since it supports IPv6, let’s see for yourself under IPV6:
Due to my bandwidth limitation, I can only reach 17.4MB/s. The picture below is the actual measurement effect of using the Chrome browser to download files on the server on the Guangzhou Telecom webmaster’s personal computer:
Packet collection test results:
Outward journey test!
Data of more than 120 nodes in mainland China provided by ping.chinaz.com:
The outbound telecom connection is directly connected to the backbone network, and Shark connects it himself to 100G:
The outbound journey to China Unicom is also directly connected to the backbone network, and Shark himself also connected to China Unicom:
Moving there is a fixed mode, still exporting from Guangdong, and then CMI International goes directly to the computer room:
Return to China Telecom: Straight from the computer room to return to China, nothing extra
Return to China Unicom: take Unicom AS4837 (VIP) back
Return to China Mobile: We found that part of the information was hidden. All we could see was AS58453 connecting to AS9808. The obvious one in the Guangzhou direction was cogentco directly connecting to AS9808
To sum up the down trip and return trip, since it is not a high-end line, so:
(1) For the outbound journey, China Telecom is a direct backbone connection, as is China Unicom, and China Mobile can also be regarded as such,
(2) Return, AS4134 China Telecom direct, AS4837 China Unicom direct, China Mobile are slightly worse and less optimized
In the end, Unix bench, it may be a script problem. There is an error when running multi-core. I can only look at the single-core score. It’s okay:
