desivps recently launched a special promotional VPS for Chinese customers (you can switch to IPv4 for free 6 times a year, as low as $20/year). We are very curious about the situation of this desivps and whether it is worth buying. With these questions in mind, I directly got a VPS. Let me share the evaluation data directly below, for reference only!

Judging from the VPS I got, the main frequency is 2.4GHz and the hard disk I/O is about 466MB/S. The webmaster habitually turns on BBR for the VPS:

The uplink bandwidth and downlink bandwidth of VPS are the parameters we focus on. Let’s test it with speedtest’s China node. The results show that the downlink bandwidth is 1Gbps, and the uplink bandwidth for each VPS is limited to 100Mbps:

To summarize:

For telecommunications, take cogentco for the outbound trip and telia for the return trip;

China Unicom takes Comcast for the outbound journey and AS4837 for the return journey at level 3;

The outbound mobile journey is via CMI to cogentco, and the return journey is directly connected;

Judging from the current situation, the effect of China Telecom may be poor. At least the routing of China Unicom and China Mobile seems to be better; the actual situation still needs to be tested by everyone to know.
