How about racknerd? Racknerd has two data centers in Dallas and Chicago in the central part of the United States. It has previously tested the AMD series VPS in the Dallas computer room. This time, I will complete the evaluation of the AMD Ryzen 9 3900X series VPS in the Chicago computer room. How about racknerd? Is racknerd good? Just look at the evaluation data and you will know that the test data is for reference only!

The CPU is amd ryzen9 3900X, which has a main frequency of 3.8GHz, a dynamic acceleration frequency of 4.6GHz, and 12 cores and 24 threads, which is quite brutal. The test I/O of the VPS configured with 2G memory, 2 cores, and 40G NVMe was approximately 1.5GB/S, and BBR was also enabled:

Look at the detailed I/O data of the hard disk:

I used speedtest.net during the day to test how much bandwidth the three networks in mainland China can reach, and found that the maximum uplink speed is not 400Mbps:

The following is the data for the evening peak. The difference is not big. The VPS in the central US computer room seems to be more stable than the one on the West Coast in the morning and evening time periods:

Testing of nodes in other regions of Asia:

iperf3, let’s take a quick look:

The webmaster is Guangzhou Telecom. I use Chrome to download files on the VPS, and the speed can reach 9MB/S:

Evening rush hour can actually reach 11MB/S:

Ping data of 80 nodes in mainland China, provided by ping.chinaz.com:

The outbound journey of China Telecom is via GTT:

China Unicom’s outbound journey also takes GTT:

To move outbound, CMI is followed by NTT:

Return to China Telecom: All are directly connected back to China from Telecom’s own node in San Jose on the west coast of the United States

202.97.85.154, this IP is San Jose Telecom’s own node:

Return to China Unicom: Take level 3 docking from Los Angeles or San Jose on the west coast to AS4837 to return home

Return trip to mainland China: it is more complicated, take NTT, Seattle-Tokyo-Taiwan-Hong Kong,

The last is the Unix bench score:

To summarize:

China Telecom and China Unicom both transfer from GTT to China Mobile, while China Mobile transfers from CMI to NTT;

For the return trip, China Telecom uses its own node to connect directly back to China, while China Unicom uses Level 3 to AS4837; China Mobile goes around Japan in a large circle.

Relatively speaking, China Telecom and China Unicom may have much better results than China Mobile.
