A rough summary:

For China Telecom and China Unicom, they used NTT to go around Japan and have direct mobile connections. Overall, it’s not that bad;

For the return trip, all three networks are forced to use mobile CMI direct connection; so overall, mainland users have a certain guarantee in terms of speed. It has 1Gbps bandwidth guarantee, which is more or less better than those related to several megabytes!
