The popular data centers on the west coast of virmach US vps are either Los Angeles or San Jose. Recently, virmach’s San Jose AMD series has been officially launched (not pre-sold), so what is the effect? Is the speed good? Is the performance impressive? We have opened a little chicken here to do a simple evaluation for everyone, and directly publish the actual measurement data. You can know whether it is good or not by looking at the data.

Official website: https://virmach.com/

Compared from the previous test of AMD's chicken in Phoenix, the chicken in San Jose should still be Ryzen 9 3900X. With BBR turned on, the hard disk I/O is currently about 1.4GB/S:

FIO tests the reading and writing of the hard disk in detail, which is more accurate:

Use the speedtest node to test the bandwidth of the chicken in broad daylight and see how far we can go:

Compared with the daytime data, let’s look at the evening peak data below:

The general situation of the European and American nodes tested by iperf3:

Testing of other nodes in Asia:

The files stored on the test chicken can be downloaded by Guangzhou Telecom directly from the browser to see the speed:

During the evening rush hour, the speed decreases to approximately 1/6 of that during the day:

Latency monitoring results of more than 160 nodes around the world:

Outbound telecommunications, backbone network docking with telia:

China Unicom outbound, backbone network docking with GTT:

Moving outbound, CMI connects with cogentco:

On the return trip, to China Telecom: take telia in the direction of Beijing to connect to the telecommunications backbone, and take level3 in the direction of Shanghai and Guangzhou to connect to the telecommunications backbone

Return to China Unicom:

Level3\cogentco in Los Angeles and Verizon in San Jose finally connected with AS4837 and returned to China

Return, move to mainland China:

Beijing and Shanghai direction: both are directly connected from the mobile San Jose node

Guangzhou direction: return directly from Mobile Seattle node

Performance related tests:

Streaming media unlocking test, this section seems to be okay, you can watch something, the general results:

A rough summary:

All mobile backhauls are directly connected from our own nodes on the West Coast of the United States,

China Unicom connects China Unicom AS4837 from Los Angeles level3\cogentco and San Jose Verizon back to China,

This is relatively better than Telecom going level 3 or Verizon directly connecting to Telecom's backbone.

It seems that the IP range tested by the webmaster can also unlock some streaming media...

The unix bench mark score is very good, and the performance is naturally not bad...

Webmaster Tips:

Officially, there is no after-sales support for the special version of VPS. If you send a work order, it will generally be ignored. If you send too many work orders, it may be deleted or even warned. Please be sure to understand before buying! The current AMD series VPS takes a long time to boot (maybe days, weeks or even longer), and there are many bugs, such as the system cannot be reinstalled, the system cannot be booted after reinstallation, etc.

If you like to play cheap VPS, the webmaster recommends two merchants:

1: RackNerd, an American VPS merchant, has many American low-priced VPSs. Please refer to some promotions:

2: hostyun, operating since 2008, mainly operates VPS optimized for mainland China, including: Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, the United States, and the United Kingdom, all of which are optimized networks, such as CN2, Softbank, Triple Network CMI, AS4387, AS9929 etc. Promotion and evaluation reference:
