People from mainland China basically like to hang out on the west coast of the United States, and pay little attention to the east coast. Vultr has its own data center in New Jersey on the east coast of the United States. This time we bring a simple evaluation of vultr’s cloud server in the New Jersey data center on the east coast of the United States. We hope that the chicks on the east coast will have different performance. The data is only for reference.

Official website: https://www.vultr.com

Supports multiple payment methods including: credit card, PayPal, Alipay and more!

The test still chose the lowest configuration of the AMD platform, using VULTR's own broadcast IP. The current hard disk I/O is roughly 1.2GB/s, and the webmaster casually turned on BBR:

Let’s test it again using FIO to see how the data is read and written:

The uplink and downlink bandwidth that Xiaoji can achieve in the three-network environment in mainland China is a key parameter that many people like to pay attention to. We use the speedtest node to run it here. The data is as follows:

For the same test, let’s switch to the evening rush hour and see that this is the stage when the backbone network is exploding:

Let’s take a look at the test data of nodes in Asia excluding mainland China:

Judging from the data of iperf3 running in Europe and the United States, it seems to be a 10G port:

The files stored on the test chicken were downloaded directly by Guangzhou Telecom using the Chrome browser, and the speed was approximately 10.6MB/S:

Let’s test it again during the evening rush hour:

Latency monitoring data of multiple nodes of the three networks in mainland China:

For the outbound telecommunications journey, we use NTT, logging in from the west coast to the east coast:

China Unicom’s outbound journey is via Cogent, which also crosses the entire United States:

Mobile outbound, the connection after international CMI is PCCW:

Return to China Telecom:

Beijing and Shanghai direction: taking level 3, connecting telecom backbones from San Jose on the west coast to return home

Guangzhou direction: from PCCW, connecting to the backbone network from Los Angeles on the West Coast and returning to China

Return to China Unicom: take level 3 and then connect to China Unicom's POP node on the west coast to take AS4837 back to China

Return to China Mobile: NYIIX directly connected to China Mobile’s node on the west coast and then directly connected back to China

TIKTOK streaming media unlock test: no chance

Some cross-regional streaming media platform unlock test data:

Some North American streaming media unlocking test results:

Results of some performance test parameters:

A rough summary:

The test results of both hard disk and CPU are quite satisfactory;

In terms of network, China Mobile is completely directly connected. China Unicom connects directly from its node with level 3. China Telecom uses NTT and PCCW as the backbone. Overall, China Telecom's effect may be worse. It is more suitable for China Mobile and China Unicom. User.
