ramnode launched the OpenStack cloud architecture cloud server in 2019 and is now acquired by InMotionHosting. The webmaster has not paid attention to it for two or three years. Today I will make a simple evaluation for you to see how the cloud server in the Los Angeles data center of Ramnode, your favorite, is doing? Is it still suitable for everyone to play? Data is for reference only!

What's going on? AMD EPYC series CPU? Yes, you read that right! But whether it can be opened depends on luck. Currently, the cloud servers available have AMD and Intel CPUs. The webmaster has tested the AMD EPYC series in Los Angeles and Seattle... The main frequency is 2.8GHz, and the current hard disk I/O At roughly 1126MB/S, the webmaster turned on BBR:
Test the performance of reading and writing data on the hard disk again:
Let's test and see how far the chicken can run up and down, shall we? Judging from the nearest node, the bandwidth of Hen is at least more than 2Gbps. Please take a look at the uplink and downlink data of nodes in mainland China:
We can’t just look at the data during the day. Let’s look at the data during the evening peak period when the backbone network bursts:
Look at the test data of some nodes in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Africa:
Test results of nodes in Asia excluding China:
Use iperf3 to run a node in Europe and America to see the data:
Guangzhou Telecom downloads the files stored on the test chicken directly using the browser to see the speed:
When I use the browser to download during the evening peak period, the speed is reduced by more than half:
If you like to see latency data, pay attention to the testing of nodes in mainland China:
The outbound journey, Beijing Telecom, takes NTT:
For the outbound journey, Shanghai Telecom: It’s better to use NTT
The outbound journey, Shenzhen Telecom, takes NTT:
For the outbound journey, Qingdao China Unicom took sprintlink and then transferred to NTT:
Return to China Telecom: take PCCW out of the computer room to Telecom's node in Los Angeles and then directly connect back to China
Return to China Unicom:
Beijing direction: Take NTT to connect level3 to China Unicom backbone AS4837
Shanghai direction: from Los Angeles NTT to San Jose level 3 and then take as4837
Guangzhou direction: Take pccw out of the computer room to connect to Verizon and then connect to as4837
Return, move to mainland China:
Beijing direction: Take PCCW from Los Angeles to the mobile node in San Jose and then return directly to China
Shanghai direction: start from Los Angeles and take NTT all the way to Tokyo, Japan, then to Hong Kong, and then back
Guangzhou direction: start from Los Angeles and take NTT all the way to Tokyo, Japan, then to Hong Kong, then transfer to Hong Kong node, and then come back

Some North American streaming media unlocking test results:
Performance parameter test results:
A rough summary:
Judging from the test data, the performance of the cloud server is still quite strong!
The outbound journey is basically via ordinary international routes,
For the return trip, China Telecom basically connects directly from its node on the west coast. Although China Unicom uses ordinary international lines, China Unicom has its own international advantages and the speed is not bad. China Mobile directly connects back from San Jose or takes NTT. From Japan to Hong Kong and back, mobile has its own advantages in Asia and is not bad. The overall return trip is better than those with detours, but it is worse than all direct return trips. You should decide according to your own needs!
