If you are tired of the crowds on the west coast of the United States, then consider the central region of the United States! Vultr has two data centers in Dallas and Chicago in the central region of the United States. We have tested Dallas before. Here we bring you a simple evaluation of the Chicago cloud server for your reference! I still chose the lowest configuration of the AMD series, and the test data is for reference only!
Official website: https://www.vultr.com
Supports multiple payment methods including: credit card, PayPal, Alipay and more!
AMD EPYC-Rome series CPU, 2.0GHz frequency, Vultr’s own broadcast IP, the current hard disk I/O is roughly 262MB/S, the webmaster has enabled BBR:
Test the hard disk reading and writing data again:
Let’s test how much uplink and downlink the chicken can run in the three-network environment of mainland China:
The backbone network explosion event was tested during the evening peak period. The data is as follows:
Node testing in Asia, excluding nodes in mainland China:
Run iperf3 on several European and American nodes and take a look at the data:
The file stored on Test Chicken, Guangzhou Telecom, download it directly with the browser and check the speed:
The same test must use the evening rush hour for comparison:
Latency monitoring data of multiple nodes in mainland China:
For the outbound telecommunications journey, take NTT and log in from San Jose on the west coast:
For China Unicom's outbound journey, use Comcast and log in from Los Angeles on the West Coast:
Mobile outbound, international CMI docking level 3, log in from Seattle on the West Coast:
Return to China Telecom:
Towards Beijing and Guangzhou: take level 3 to San Jose and then connect to the telecommunications backbone
Shanghai direction: Take NTT to San Jose, and return directly to China through telecom and NTT peer
Return to China Unicom:
Beijing direction: Take GTT to Los Angeles and then connect to China Unicom AS4837
In the direction of Shanghai and Guangzhou: take level 3 to San Jose, and then directly connect back to GTT’s peer in San Jose through China Unicom
Return, move to mainland China:
Beijing direction: take Telia to San Jose, then transfer to the node in San Jose and come back directly
Shanghai direction: Take NTT from Seattle on the west coast to Tokyo, Japan, then to Hong Kong, transfer to the Hong Kong node, and then come back
Guangzhou direction: take Telia to Seattle, and then come back directly from the mobile Seattle node
TIKTOK streaming media unlock test: no chance
Some cross-regional streaming media unlocking test results:
Some North American streaming media unlocking tests:
Let’s test some performance parameters again. The approximate results are as follows:
A rough summary:
At present, the CPU running scores, memory, hard disk I/O, etc. are all quite good.
As for the network, especially the backhaul: China Mobile basically connects directly back (although Shanghai uses NTT to transfer mobile nodes from Hong Kong, but China Mobile has its own advantages in Asia), China Telecom and China Unicom both use International BGP lines, because China Unicom has its own advantages in international lines, the speed may be better than that of China Telecom!
