Solve the problem of deploying PMTA environment\\"Starting PowerMTA: [FAILED]\\"

I have always heard rumors that webmasters who play mass mailing (EDM) projects are very powerful. Just a few days ago, I met a netizen who downloaded a cracked version of the PMTA+OEMPRO combination program from the Internet and learned to install it. I encountered several problems, so I asked for a copy of the program and tried to install it. According to the problem mentioned by this friend, when I started to deploy PMTA, it could not be started after installation, and the 7100 port that should be opened by default was also disabled. Not turned on.

Because I have never installed this program, I searched for solutions through the Internet. After installing PMTA, port 7100 was not automatically started (of course, the WEB interface cannot be opened by directly entering the IP and port). And when starting PMTA (/etc/init.d/pmta start), the error message "Starting PowerMTA: [FAILED]\\" appears.

1. Check port

We are typing \\"netstat -lnpt\\" to check which ports are open.

According to the tutorial, we should see that there is port 7100. If we don’t see it here, we need to solve it.

2. Check pmtad errors and solve them

pmtad –debug

Enter the command to see where the error occurred.

Here you can see the error on line 435.

vi +435 /etc/pmta/config

Go directly to line 435 and modify the configuration.

I will change \\"smtp-source-host yourIP yourdomain\\" to something like this \\"smtp-source-host 74.207.245.213 mail.laozuo.org\\"

We only need to change the corresponding IP address and domain name to our own. Then we will execute \\"pmtad –debug\\".

3. Check the port and WEB end

After completing the above, we will execute \\"/etc/init.d/pmta start\\" in sequence to check whether the port is effective netstat -lnpt

Here you can see that according to the online installation tutorial, you can see that there are ports 7100 and 2525.

You can open the above page through our current server's IP: 7100, which means that PMTA is installed, and we can continue to deploy OEMPRO environment settings later.

In summary, because Snail is not familiar with the operation of this project, this article will record the problem of PMTA being unable to start port 7100 during the installation process. Other deployments of the PMTA+OEMPRO environment will not be recorded for the time being.
