Install Log.io Linux VPS monitoring software in CentOS 7 environment

Written before: This article is purely tossing, because Snail saw the foreign LOG.IO tool in the afternoon, which can be used to monitor the operating environment of Linux VPS, but it is not recommended for us ordinary users. Tossing around will ruin the environment that we originally enjoyed, but we can use it to toss and have fun. In a normal website environment, we can use online tools such as Alibaba Cloud Monitoring, Baidu Cloud Observation, and 360 Website Guard to monitor website transfers. Monitoring installed in VPS is rarely used.

In this article, I will try to use the CENTOS7 environment to install the LOG.IO toolkit, which is said to be very powerful.

First, install and start the EPEL software library

yum install http://mirror.us.leaseweb.net/epel/7/x86_64/e/epel-release-7-5.noarch.rpm

After installation, let’s start the installation

yum repolist

Second, update the CENTOS system source

yum update

Third, install NODE.JS

yum install nodejs npm

Because LOG.IO is based on the NODE.JS environment, we need to install it.

npm install -g log.io –user \\”root\\”

Execute installation LOG.IO

Fourth, configure the environment

cd ~/.log.io/

We need to go to the corresponding LOG.IO directory and configure the following three environments.

harvester.conflog_server.confweb_server.conf

We can set up the monitoring we need on the above three system files and edit them directly with VI.

log.io-server &log.io-harvester &

Start.

Finally, log in to the monitoring software

http://VPS host IP address:28778/

We can directly monitor and see the interface here.

In summary, Snail personally believes that LOG is still relatively complicated. It is not necessary for our basic use. If you can install less software into the VPS, install it less. For simple monitoring, you can use commonly used online tools.
