Oregon is located on the west coast of the United States, just above California. Bend is located in central Oregon. From a geographical point of view, it should be more suitable for mainland Chinese user groups, at least better than central and southeastern United States. What I bring to you this time is a simple evaluation of iwebfusion's Bend, Oregon data center. Since the cost of testing a standalone server is too high, we use a VPS instead. Just take a look at the general information such as routing. This evaluation data is for reference only.
Official website: https://www.iwebfusion.net
The CPU model used by the VPS server is unknown, the main frequency is approximately 2.4GHz, H4Y (iwebfusion)’s own IP, the current hard disk I/O is approximately 355MB/S, and the webmaster has enabled BBR:
FIO tests reading and writing data again:
The default bandwidth is 1Gbps. We use speedtest.net to run uplink and downlink on different nodes of the three networks in mainland China to see how high the maximum bandwidth can be? The approximate data is as follows:
How could the same test be conducted without the evening peak? At this moment, the backbone network exploded. Let’s compare:
A simple test on some international nodes (U.S.\Europe\Asia\Africa), look at the up and down lines:
Specially for countries and regions in Asia, take a look at the test data:
iperf3 runs several European and American nodes, and the approximate data is as follows:
The files stored on the test chicken are directly downloaded by Guangzhou Telecom via Chrome. The approximate speed is as follows:
In the same environment, during the evening peak period, let’s look at the download speed:
Evening peak, Hubei Shiyan Telecom download speed:
Evening rush hour, Chengdu China Unicom download speed:
Latency test data of multiple different nodes of the three networks in mainland China:
Telecom outbound, backbone network docking level3:
China Unicom outbound, backbone network connected to HE.NET:
Mobile outbound, backbone network docking level3:
Return to Mainland China Telecom: unified use of level 3 to connect to the telecom backbone
Return to China Unicom:
Beijing and Guangzhou directions: Directly connect back to China from China Unicom and level3 peers in Los Angeles
Shanghai direction: Take level 3 to connect with China Unicom’s backbone
Return to China Mobile: Take level 3 to Seattle, and directly connect back to China from China Mobile’s node in Seattle
Tiktok unlock failed:
Some cross-regional streaming media unlocking results:
Results of partial streaming media unlocking test in North America:
VPS server performance test, approximate data of some parameters:
A rough summary:
The server as a whole has a certain load, and the performance test score is not high;
As for the Internet, China Unicom and China Mobile basically provide direct connections back to China, while China Unicom uses international lines to connect backbones back to China; relatively speaking, it may be more suitable for China Unicom and China Mobile user groups...
