Hosthatch’s Black Friday promotion that just passed is probably memorable to many people, especially the ultra-large storage VPS, which provides a hard drive of up to 10T and has more than ten computer rooms to choose from. So what is hosthatch like? Here I got a vps from hosthatch's Los Angeles computer room. I will briefly evaluate it and share some data so that everyone can make their own judgments. Evaluation data is for reference only!

Official website: https://hosthatch.com/

The CPU used by this Los Angeles vps is e5-2697v2 (2.7GHz frequency), and it uses hosthatch's own IP. The current hard disk I/O is roughly 522MB/S, and BBR is enabled:

FIO will run it again for everyone to see how the hard drive's reading and writing capabilities are.

The default bandwidth is 10Gbps. Let’s run it using speedtest.net’s Mainland China node to see how high the uplink and downlink speeds can be, right? The approximate data is as follows:

Test again during the evening peak period. Please pay attention to compare with the above daytime data:

Run a few international nodes and see how far you can run, right? As follows:

Look specifically at how far countries and regions in Asia can reach? Approximate data:

iperf3, the main test here is to connect European and American nodes:

iperf3, but changed here, in an IPv6 environment:

File stored on Test Chicken, Guangzhou Telecom, direct browser download:

The approximate download data during the evening peak is not much different from that during the day:

Evening peak, Hubei Shiyan Telecom’s download speed:

Evening rush hour, Chengdu China Unicom’s download data:

Triple network delay monitoring data of multiple nodes in mainland China:

Telecom outbound journey, backbone network docking level 3, log in from San Jose and then go to Los Angeles:

China Unicom outbound, China Unicom backbone docking level 3 directly to Los Angeles:

Mobile outbound, mobile CMI docking level3 directly to Los Angeles:

Return to China Telecom: use level3, cogent, and GTT to connect to the telecom backbone network and return home

Return to China Unicom: Directly connect to mainland China from China Unicom and level3’s pop node in Los Angeles/San Jose

Return to China Mobile: Directly connect back to China from China Mobile’s nodes in Los Angeles or San Jose

Approximate results of some streaming media unlocking tests:

How is the performance of VPS? Let’s run around and see:

A rough summary:

As for the Internet, the backhaul of China Unicom and China Mobile is basically direct connection, but China Telecom uses the international line GTT\COGENT\LEVEL3, which is quite different. Judging from the data we have tested, the performance of the VPS is not excellent, and is roughly at a medium to slightly above level. Maybe not many people are struggling now, and it may continue to decline in the future... However, this is a moderate storage VPS, so you need to understand ….
