1. First, let’s talk about 163 and CN2
You can understand it this way. In the last century, when my country was connected to the Internet, China Telecom built a line to connect to the global Internet, which is the 163 line. Now after decades of development, although this line has been Capacity expansion and improvement, but still cannot meet the Internet access needs of mainland China, so for high-end business needs, another CN2 line was built. This line is available in most provinces. When going overseas, it is independent from the 163 line. It is quite Yu built two networks. Most of his business went to the 163 network (lower fees), and some of his business went to the CN2 network (higher fees).
So in the CN2 network, it is divided into two categories and there is no demand. The most high-end one is directly connected to the CN2 high-speed network from the local province. This is CN2-GIA. There are also some who pursue cost-effectiveness, which is mainland China. I also use the 163 network. In order to avoid the crowded 163 line when leaving the country, I use the CN2 network on the outbound route. This is CN2-GT. This is probably a popular saying, but it may not be appropriate to explain it professionally.
2. How to distinguish 163, CN2-GT and CN2-GIA
First of all, you must know that the backbone IP of the 163 line starts with 202.97, and the node of the CN2 line starts with 59.43. If the full name of the route does not appear 59.43, it must not be CN2.
Then if the routing node 59.43 appears in the route, look at where this type of node appears and find a city other than Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou to traceroute to the target IP. For example, routing from Baoji, Shaanxi to abroad, here is a classic VPS Take the Los Angeles DC8 computer room and DC9 computer room as an example. The DC8 computer room is CN2-GT and the DC9 computer room is CN2-GIA. Let’s take a look at their differences.
CN2-GIA
The following is the CN2-GIA line of the DC9 computer room of the classic VPS. There is no route starting with 202.97, and looking at the 4th jump to the 5th hop, in Baoji, Shaanxi, it directly starts with the node starting with 59.43 and then passes the node starting with 59.43 Arrive in Shanghai and then leave the country. This is the standard CN2-GIA line. Of course, some cities do not have CN2 nodes locally. These will enter the CN2 network from the closest city.

CN2-GT
The following is the route of CN2-GT. The 4th hop jumps to the 5th hop. Data transmission in mainland China is carried out through the 163 network starting with 202.97. When arriving at the exit of Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, the CN2 line starting with 59.43 is used. This is CN2 -GT.
