How to select and set up custom security group configuration for Tencent Cloud Server

Nowadays, the cloud computing market is really fierce. If we need to choose a data center in mainland China, we will generally choose the products of big-name merchants such as Alibaba Cloud and Tencent Cloud. Fortunately, compared with the data centers of merchants in Hong Kong, Singapore, and the United States, It is quite cost-effective for individuals or other companies. However, market competition will be difficult to predict in the future, so if we are engaged in cloud computing-related business and conflict with BAT, we should transform as soon as possible.

Although Alibaba Cloud and Tencent Cloud server products are somewhat similar, there are still some differences in their use. For example, when a cloud server is activated, Alibaba Cloud should now be forced to set up a security group. Otherwise, it cannot be used unless certain required ports are released. However, Tencent Cloud has three options to choose from, 3389 and 22 ports, and opening all ports by default. But compared to such a full openness, it is indeed not very safe.

So, after the server is configured, we can configure the security group port square ourselves, and then reference it to the required server.

First, custom security group

Here we can add a custom security group name to the security group.

Second, set the port square

Then we can see the rule additions for inbound rules and outbound rules.

Here Snail gives a simple example of adding an inbound port square. For example, we need to set SSH port 22, SSL port 443, and port 80. If we are installing the WDCP panel, we must first default to port 8080.

In the same way we need to set up outbound rules.

Third, application server

If our server needs to apply a custom port, we can set the security group in the server options, check it and confirm, and then restart the server to take effect.
