Severe packet loss events did occur in China Telecom's network. We were in contact with China Telecom in Hong Kong about this issue and they asked us to upgrade our connection to CN2, which we agreed to. This may take some time. Given our previous experience with China Telecom, I don't think CN2 will be added anytime soon. (Would everyone smile knowingly when I say this? In the previous CN2 GIA in Los Angeles, China Telecom made the bricklayers miserable.)

At the same time, we offer the CN2 GIA plan, which offers the best connection possibilities between China and Los Angeles, and many of our enterprise customers prefer CN2 GIA due to its stability.

According to the last mtr report I am seeing in this ticket, there is indeed significant packet loss – however it is occurring within China Telecom’s network.

We have been in touch with China Telecom regarding this issue in Hong Kong, and they offered us to upgrade our connectivity to CN2, which we agreed to. This may take some time. Considering our previous experience with China Telecom, I would not expect CN2 to be added quickly.

In the meantime, we offer CN2 GIA plans which offer the best connectivity possible between China and Los Angeles, many of our enterprise clients prefer CN2 GIA to Hong Kong due to stability.

Yes, CN2 will be added in Hong Kong for all customers, however this will take some time (possibly a few months, we do not have an ETA from China Telecom right now).
