Class C IPs are a semi-static range of IP addresses used on the Internet. IPv4 addresses contain four different parts (classes): A, B, C, and D.
An example of this is IP address 192.168.1.2, where the top ranking is Class C. When you purchase a C-Class IP from Hostwinds, you will receive an IP from the pool of available C-Class IP addresses. Typically, when you purchase five IPs from Hostwinds, you get them in the order 192.168.1.2, 3, 4, 5, 6, etc. The difference between C-Class IP and Standard IP is purchasing a C-Class IP. You will receive IPs in this order, 192.168.1.2,3,4,5, and a Class C IP such as 192.184.15.124, which is not in the same class as your other IP addresses.
Add a C-level IP address to your server
To add a C-Class IP address to your VPS/Cloud Server, please follow these steps:
Step 1: Log in to your Cloud Portal and locate your Cloud Control management area. If you are unsure, please contact Hostwinds customer service via online chat, who can provide assistance.
Step 2: Left-click the server nickname in the server list
Step 3: Left-click Management IP in the navigation menu bar in the middle of the page Step 4: Click the button on the right side of the page that says Manage IPv4 Addresses.
Step 5: Select the number of C-Class IP addresses to add to the server from the drop-down menu. Here you can choose to add 0 – 250 IP addresses to your server and you will see the cost for the number of C-level IP addresses you want to add. After making your selection, click the "Confirm" button.
