Domain name registration steps

Step 1: Go to the Namecheap homepage to search for domain names

Go to the Namecheap homepage and type the website domain name you want to register in the search bar on the homepage. As shown in the figure below, peterdzh is taken as an example.

Note: When searching for a domain name, you do not need to enter a suffix (such as .org, .com or .net), so you can view all available suffixes in the search results.

Click the red button to the right of the search bar to start searching.

In the search results, you can view website domain names with different suffixes, such as peterdzh.xyz, peterdzh.com, peterdzh.club, etc. Namecheap often provides you with dozens of different suffixes, which you can choose according to your personal needs. We mainly recommend you to choose .com, .net or .org.

Different suffixes have different prices, some are US$1/year, and some are US$8.88/year. Most website domain names cost around US$10 per year. For example, peterdzh.com below.

Everyone should note that there is a line of small words "Retail" below the current price. This price is the renewal price starting from the second year. For example, for peterdzh.com, the price in the second year is approximately $10.69/year. That's about 2 cents a day.

Step 2: Choose an appropriate suffix

Find the suffix you like and click the shopping cart button on the right:

After adding to the shopping cart, please confirm whether the price is correct on the right side of the current page (as shown below):

In the price column, there is an item called "ICANN Fee", which is the handling fee charged by ICANN, which is about a few cents. So, the total price is 8.88 + 0.18 = $9.06/year.

If the information is confirmed to be correct, please click the red button [Confirm Order] on the right to proceed to the next step.

Step 3: Create a Namecheap account

If this is your first time using Namecheap, you need to create a new account (on the right side of the picture below); if you already have a Namecheap account, just log in (on the left side of the picture below).

The following takes "Create a new account" as an example. You need to enter "username", "password", "name" and "email". Please ensure that your email address is filled in correctly. After the registration is completed, Namecheap needs to send an email to your email address to complete the final registration steps.

After completing the input, click the bottom button [Create Account and Continue] to create an account, as shown in the figure below.

Continue to fill in the account information, including company name, company address (or personal address), phone number and other information:

In the "Country" option in the picture above, you can select any country, such as China, the United Kingdom, and the United States. After filling in, please click the button [Continue] at the bottom. You can also find this button on the right side of the page.

The following will enter a new page "Whois Contact Information", please check whether your contact information is correct.

Still on the same page, continue scrolling. Continue to select "WhoisGuard Privacy Protection". There is basically no need to modify it. Keep the default and click the button [Continue] at the bottom:

Step 4: Complete payment
