A few days ago, a security vulnerability broke out in the Pagoda Panel, causing the databases of many friends who used the Pagoda Panel to be hacked (Details: "Serious vulnerability in Pagoda Panel 7.4.2, you can log in to the database directly by bypassing verification"), Pagoda Panel The official immediately released a patch to fix this security vulnerability. This article will share with you the Pagoda upgrade tutorial on how to upgrade to the latest version of Pagoda.

1. Pagoda upgrade tutorial

There are three ways to update the pagoda. The simple and convenient ones are naturally the first two online upgrades. However, if the upgrade fails, you can also use the offline update method. The following are the detailed steps of these three update methods.

1. Update directly from the console (recommended)

Log in to the Pagoda panel backend and click update directly on the console. This is also an officially recommended update method:

2. Upgrade script update

Use the upgrade script to update the pagoda. The following upgrade script cannot be executed in the SSH terminal that comes with the panel. Please SSH to the brickworker host first and then execute it (detailed tutorial: "Xshell Tutorial: Using Xshell to Connect to Linux") :

curl https://download.bt.cn/install/update_panel.sh|bash

3. Offline upgrade

If the above two upgrade options are not feasible, you can use offline upgrade to upgrade the pagoda panel. The detailed steps include:

  • Download the offline upgrade package: http://download.bt.cn/install/update/LinuxPanel-7.4.3.zip
  • Upload the upgrade package to the /root directory on the host
  • Unzip the file: unzip LinuxPanel-7.4.3.zip
  • Switch to the upgrade package directory: cd panel
  • Execute the upgrade script: bash update.sh
  • Delete the upgrade package: cd .. && rm -f LinuxPanel-7.4.3.zip && rm -rf panel
  • 2. More website building scripts

Pagoda is a very easy-to-use Linux management script that provides a very complete visual management page, but do we really need a visual management page when building a website? Anyway, Lao Wang himself feels that it is not necessary. The visualization panel will still occupy some host resources more or less.

If you are just building a normal website, Lao Wang recommends that you use LNMP management scripts. You can build MySQL, PHP, Nginx/Apache website environments with one click, configure SSL certificates, create new sites and other basic operations. Related tutorials are available on this site.
