Tutorial on installing Windows on VPS based on KVM (2) Debian installs Windows system through Grub boot

The entire tutorial has five parts

This tutorial involves two parts, 4 and 5.

4. Upload necessary documents

1. Here we need to prepare 3 files, namely MAXDOS.IMG (download address: http://dl.138vps.com/windows/MAXDOS.IMG), grub4dos.tar (download address: http://dl.138vps .com/windows/grub4dos.tar), and the .GHO suffix system file of the WIN system. The gho file involves copyright issues. We do not provide downloads. You can obtain it by downloading the ISO and decompressing it.

2. Place the MAXDOS.IMG file in the /boot/boot directory (this directory does not exist, please create it yourself)

3. Unzip the grub4dos.tar file and upload it to the /boot/ directory or upload the compressed package and use the command [tar -xvf grub4dos.tar] to decompress it.

4. Place the .GHO system file in the /dos folder.

5. Boot and install Windows

1. Restart the VPS and log in using vnc. You will see an interface similar to the following:

2. If this is the screen, please SEND CTRLALTDEL first

3. When the following interface appears, press C to enter grub

4. Enter the following two commands. Friendly reminder, do not enter t into r.

linux (hd0,1)/grub.exe

boot

5. Select MAXDOS.IMG.

6. Select the MAXDOS toolbox

7. According to the prompts, we enter ghost and press Enter to enter the system restore.

8. Local –> Disk –> From Image, control by pressing Enter, select as shown below

9. Since there is no mouse in this step, directly enter [C:] and press Enter. When you come to C, you can see our XP.gho.

10. There is nothing to say. Press Enter until the following picture appears. Select delete in the middle.

11. Enter a number you like, usually 5000. This is the size of the system’s C drive. Then confirm with alt+o.

12. Select OK to confirm, select yes all the way, and start installing Windows.

The speed of installation is related to the performance of your machine. After the installation is completed, we can set the administrator password and enable remote login through vnc, and that's it.

How to enable IP binding, enable remote login and set the administrator password later is beyond the scope of this article.
