Online 3 Euro dedicated server installation and use tutorial

Yesterday, we also bought an online 3 Euro server. This is also our first time to use a dedicated server. To be honest, we are a little excited. In the spirit of using this kind of thing for the first time, I wrote a tutorial to share it.

After adding, we enter https://console.online.net/en/server/list, where we can see all the products we have purchased. At this time, we can filter by selecting the region in the upper left corner. Then click the button on the right to enter management.

After entering the management, if this is your first time, you will be prompted that the operating system is not installed. Click Install on the right to start the installation.

Generally speaking, we will choose an operating system without a desktop. After all, after so many years, we have become accustomed to black windows. Here we have chosen centos 7.6 64-bit. After clicking install, you will be asked to decide how to allocate the hard drive. Because 3O has a 1T hard drive, you can see how to allocate it yourself. If you don’t understand this, just select the default, or you can refer to our settings. .

Then you will be asked to set the user and password. You can fill it in casually. You cannot use root, but you must save it and select the SSH KEY we just added. Then go to the next step.

Confirm your information. If there are no surprises, just install it.

Wait quietly. The installation time depends on your personality. According to the prompts on the page, it will take about 45 to 60 minutes.

After the installation is complete, you can use the SSH tool to log in. Remember to use the key to log in.

Then enter the root password through the command su and switch to root. If you do not remember the root password, you can use passwd root to change the root password.

After logging in, you can check the usage time of the hard disk and install the tool first.

yum install smartmontools

Then check it out

smartctl -A /dev/sda
