Oracle Free VPS Simple Use Tutorial

At this time, we have uploaded the public key and have our own private key. Then when we use xshell to connect to the VPS, we need to select the secret key.

In fact, before logging in, we'd better set up the firewall first.

Enter our VPS details, click the link of [Virtual Cloud Network], and enter our public subnet. If there is not one, you can create one.

For security reasons, we recommend opening only the ports that are needed and not opening all ports.

Okay, now you can use xshell to log in to our VPS. However, Oracle's VPS username is not root, so you need to find it out separately. In fact, it is very simple, just use root to log in, and then the system will tell you what to use. User name, as shown below:

So we use the username opc to log in.

But what if you must log in as root? For example, if you need to install Pagoda, you need root. two methods

One is to run the command: sudo -i, which will automatically obtain root permissions.
