Although the LinodeVPS host does not officially support the Linux operating system, you can install the WIndows operating system yourself. Today’s host review will teach you how to use Linode to install the Windows 2008R2 operating system. When installing the Windows operating system, it is best to use a Linode VPS with 2G memory. 1G memory is not impossible and can be installed. It is just a comparative card, so 2G is recommended.
Assuming that you already have a Linode VPS with 2G memory, you still need to install the Linux system first. You should download the Windows operating system through the Linux command.
1. Install the Linux operating system and start it
Follow the example diagram below to install the Linux operating system, preferably CentOS 7.
After installation, then start Linode VPS. For detailed installation operations, please refer to Linode VPS Configuration and Deployment and Linode Linux VPS Startup Tutorial.
2. Set up disk
In the VPS Dashboard, click "Edit" as shown below
Then follow the image below:
- VM Mode select Full-virtualization
- Kernel selects Direct Disk

4. Execute the command to install the Windows 2008 R2 operating system
Click "Launch Lish Console"
Then copy and paste and enter the following command

After entering the command and pressing Enter, the installation starts as shown below:
