Users often encounter the prompt during WordPress theme installation: "The uploaded file size exceeds the upload_max_filesize value defined in php.ini.", as shown in the figure:

The prompt content in the picture has clearly informed the cause of the error, which is caused by the relatively small value setting of upload_max_filesize in the website's server PHP configuration file php.ini. Generally, the default setting of the server where this error occurs is 2M, so you need to modify the php.ini file to modify the configuration.

Modification method

(Cloud) Server/VPS

If your website is a purchased cloud server, such as Alibaba Cloud or Tencent Cloud, you can modify the service configuration file yourself, that is, edit the php.ini file and modify the value of upload_max_filesize. You can upload files according to the specific value. Set the size, such as 8M. Then restart the server.

The modification method is relatively simple, but the problem for most users is that the path to the php.ini file cannot be determined accurately. If it is a Windows server, you can directly use the file manager to search for the file name. If it is a Linux system, you can use the command: find / -name php.ini

Virtual Hosting

Virtual hosts generally have a host management interface. Normally, there are options to set. For example, our common Alibaba Cloud/Wanwang and Western Digital virtual hosts are set directly in the management panel. You can consult for details. Your hosting provider. Alibaba Cloud settings are as follows:

Recommended site searches: IP address query, anti-complaint vps host, domain name registration query, registered domain name, free IP proxy server, mobile server hosting, Wanwang space management, US free host, US virtual host purchase, US not Limited content host,
