In this article, Snail will share how to use Alibaba Cloud lightweight application server to deploy a WordPress website. After all, we use WP, ECSHOP, PhpWind, etc. among the one-click deployment of CMS in its lightweight application panel. It's still WP. However, if we are familiar with self-built WEB environment and configuration, it is recommended to operate it by ourselves instead of using one click.

First, reset the system and select the WordPress image

Here we select WordPress in the Reset System menu option Application Image. Currently, the default version is version 4.8, which is slightly older, so we need to upgrade to the latest version after successful subsequent installation. Second, Alibaba Cloud lightweight server binds domain name

Here we need to add a domain name pointing to the server. Just add the domain name directly according to the picture above. We can directly add the domain name A record for parsing. After the parsing is completed, you can actually use the domain name to open the website at this time, but we don’t know the account information of our website yet, so we can’t continue in such a hurry.

Third, obtain WordPress website information

We can directly click "Remote Connection" online and follow the script instructions:

View the website administrator password, the administrator username is admin.

Of course, we can also log in using SSH. We can obtain a one-time password for the SSH information account. In fact, no matter what application we install later, the SSH password will be the one originally set unless we reset a new one.

2. Obtain database information

It actually doesn’t matter whether we obtain the database information here, because the WordPress website has been deployed. It can only be said that after obtaining the database information, it can be used when backing up the database in the future.

Fourth, modify the default domain name of the website

In fact, even if we open the resolved domain name at this time, it will still jump to the URL of the IP address. We need to change the default address of the WordPress website to the domain name.

Here we can log in to the WP backend according to the picture above to change the IP address to the domain name. If we enable SSL certificate, we also need to use HTTPS. For certificate configuration, we can set it in domain name management.

We can follow the prompts to upload an existing certificate or purchase a certificate on Alibaba Cloud. In this article, Snail will no longer apply for a certificate. In this way, we can quickly install the WordPress site in the Alibaba Cloud lightweight application server with one click and bind the domain name to build the website. But the disadvantage is that you can only install one website. It is better to build a WEB panel and install multiple websites as needed.

At the same time, if we need to manage the site, we need to use the SFTP tool to modify and back up the website program. The directory is \\"/home/www/htdocs\\". Of course, we can use snapshots to back up the website and system. , currently there seems to be no charge for snapshots on lightweight cloud servers, while ECS does.

Snail personally feels that lightweight application servers are not particularly convenient and flexible. Users who want them might as well learn something like an ECS server and then try to build a WEB environment to build a website. Today's one-click packages or WEB panels are also relatively mature.
