Solve the problem that Alibaba Cloud server cannot PING. Check whether the IP is blocked.

Some netizens began to learn how to set up and use cloud servers. They saw that Alibaba Cloud Server purchased cloud server ECS during a promotion, and then they did not know how to use it after getting the server. It is true that the cloud server is different from the virtual host we used originally. After getting the Alibaba Cloud server, this classmate tested it through PING and found that all PING failed. He wondered whether he had purchased a server with a blocked IP.

Snail first simply PING test the IP address he gave and indeed saw all timeouts. Snail still has experience with Alibaba Cloud servers. It is possible that the purchased IP address may be blocked, but the probability is relatively small. Or the IP address of the purchased server is faulty. This has been encountered before.

So I asked for his server ROOT account, and then I logged in with local SSH and found that I could log in, and I was not logged out for a short period of time. It can be inferred that there is no problem with the server, and it may be that the default security group of Alibaba Cloud has been set. PING is prohibited. Here we can add the security group (inbound) according to the picture above, and then after saving, we can see that all can be pinged. It can be seen that Alibaba Cloud server prohibits PING by default. We can enable it or leave it alone as needed.
