Pagoda panel installs different PHP versions and can switch WordPress PHP version upgrades

Since different programs may require different compatible software versions when building a website, for example, some require PHP5.3 to run, and some require PHP7.0 version. If we are using the Pagoda panel, this is relatively easy. We can directly choose to install the PHP version in the background, and then select the specified PHP for different site settings. If we need it later, we can refer to this article.

First, possible backup data

Generally, there is no problem in installing different PHP versions directly in the background of the Pagoda panel. However, for the sake of security notification, Snail still recommends that netizens who are really unclear take a snapshot of their data, or back up their website data using a method they are familiar with.

Second, install multiple PHP versions on the pagoda panel

In the background of the Pagoda panel, we can see many PHP versions on the right side in the software management menu. Here I am the demo environment, and I can see that the PHP7.0 version I currently installed is PHP7.0. If we need multiple PHP versions here, just click Install directly behind the corresponding one and confirm the installation later.

Here we can see the progress of the installation. We need to wait until the installation is complete before we can take the next step.

Third, change the PHP version of the website

We can see the picture above in the website settings corresponding to the PHP version that needs to be changed. You can choose the PHP version installed above. This allows you to switch PHP versions smoothly. If the previous version is not useful, you can go back to the first step and uninstall it. (Install only when necessary. Don’t install more than one if necessary. After all, it takes up resources.)
