In order to make it more convenient for you to use cloud servers, Tencent Cloud has opened the function of converting cloud server pay-as-you-go instances into annual and monthly subscription instances, and converts temporary use of pay-as-you-go instances into long-term and stable use of annual and monthly subscriptions. Example. You can perform conversion operations in the cloud server console and cloud API. This document introduces the functional operation of converting a pay-as-you-go instance to a subscription instance in the cloud server console.

We provide the billing mode conversion function in the cloud server console. The specific rules are as follows:
- Supports conversion of single and batch pay-as-you-go instances into annual and monthly subscription instances.
- After the pay-as-you-go billing model is converted to the annual and monthly subscription model, the subscription instance will not be converted to a pay-as-you-go instance. Please confirm carefully to avoid wasting costs.
- When a pay-as-you-go instance is converted to a yearly or monthly subscription, a renewal order will be generated. The payment process for this order must be completed before the change in billing method can take effect. If payment is not made or payment is unsuccessful, the order can be viewed and processed on your Order Center page.
- Cloud servers whose billing model is changed from pay-as-you-go to annual and monthly subscriptions cannot be returned within five days without reason.
- After the billing method is successfully converted and the payment is successful, the instance will be billed immediately on a yearly and monthly basis. The starting time of the new yearly and monthly instance is the time when the conversion is successful.
- Unless the payment is successful, the instance cannot be converted to a recurring billing mode.
- Before the payment is unsuccessful, the instance configuration information changes (such as adjusting configuration/reinstalling the system/adjusting bandwidth/adjusting disk, etc.), the amount of the new purchase order does not match the instance, and payment for unpaid orders will be prohibited. You need to First cancel the current unpaid order in the Order Center and then perform a new conversion operation.
- The pay-as-you-go billing to annual or monthly subscription function supports simultaneous conversion of instance and disk billing methods. After the instance billing mode is converted, except for the hourly bandwidth of the ordinary public IP of the "standard account type" and the hourly bandwidth of the traditional account type, the network bandwidth billing mode supports the conversion to annual and monthly billing based on bandwidth. The bandwidth billing model remains unchanged.
Usage restrictions
- Conversion is not supported when the remaining quota of the annual and monthly subscription in the availability zone is less than the number of pay-as-you-go instances to be converted. If you need to convert, please increase the instance purchase quota and then try to convert.
- Conversion is not supported for non-pay-as-you-go instances.
- Spot instances do not support conversion.
- The instance network billing mode is based on bandwidth usage, and conversion is not supported for the time being.
- Instances using cloud market images do not support conversion.
- Batch instances BC1 and BS1 do not support conversion.
- The pay-as-you-go instance has an unfinished conversion order and does not support conversion.
- The pay-as-you-go instance is set up for scheduled destruction and does not support conversion. If you need to convert, please cancel scheduled destruction first, and then convert again.

On the instance management page, perform operations based on the actual view mode used:
- List view: In the operation bar on the right, select More > Instance Settings > Switch to annual or monthly subscription based on volume. As shown below:

- Tab view: On the instance page, select More Operations > Instance Settings > Pay-as-you-go subscription in the upper right corner. As shown below:
- Renewal duration: Select the purchase duration after converting to annual or monthly subscription. If multiple instances are converted in batches, only the same purchase duration can be set.
- Automatic renewal: Select automatic renewal according to your needs.
