A few days ago, in the "Half Moon Bay HMBCloud DC5 CN2 GIA 2022 Re-evaluation: Speed, Latency, Packet Loss Rate, Routing Test", it was found that the current packet loss rate of the Half Moon Bay DC5 Data Center (Triple Network CN2 GIA) is very high. The service is extremely unstable. After consulting with the boss, it was found that it was caused by the recent migration of the data center. This article shares the instructions of Xibanyuewan on this migration.

The following is the original text of the official announcement from Half Moon Bay:

We are very sorry for the trouble and inconvenience caused to you by the recent migration of GIA Anti-DDoS Pro among the three networks. Due to the recent large number of DC5 services that need to be activated at the same time, the server is overloaded, causing packet loss and spikes in latency. Therefore, in order to allow all users to use our new DC5 services normally, we will change the status to Pending for all users and give priority to activating services for some users. If you have multiple backup machines and are not in a hurry to use DC5, we recommend that you wait for the peak period to pass before applying for DC5 services. On the contrary, if DC5 is more important to you and you are anxious to use it, you can submit a work order with the title "Please re-activate DC5". We will postpone your service expiration date to the relevant service cycle based on the reconstruction activation date.

Ping latency is high

Our network is operated by overseas T1 network engineers, so we can be assured of quality. You can check https://ping.chinaz.com/45.45.176.1 to see the real latency. If your product's latency spikes, it's because too many services are activated at the same time, causing the server to be overloaded. That’s why we have the following plan.

Compensation plan

Your product expiration date will be extended by the relevant service cycle based on the activation date. If your product is a monthly payment product, it will be extended by 1 month based on the re-activation date; if your product cycle is half a year, it will be based on the rebuild date. The opening date has been postponed for half a year. Similarly, if your product has an annual payment cycle, your product will be extended by one year based on the re-activation date. There is no time limit on the product expiration date. You can submit a work order request when you need it.

Product expiry date deadline

There is no final deadline for this arrangement. If you submit a work order for re-activation in 2023, your product will be billed starting in 2023.

IP allocation

The IP is the same as normal activation. If you find that the IP is blocked when you reopen it, you can submit a work order within 72 hours to replace it with a new IP for free.

This reopening allows for a more even distribution of time and resources. So you get better quality of service. We will issue limited discount products in mid-2022 to users who are not in a hurry to rebuild.
