MySQL is the world's most popular open source relational database, and many Vultr users already spend a lot of time actively managing MySQL clusters on our cloud infrastructure.

In contrast, the Vultr managed database can be configured in minutes and works out of the box in all 25 locations where Vultr is available. Because managed databases automate many challenging aspects of database management, you can focus on your applications.

No terminal access required

We handle all of your database setup and maintenance, so you can rest assured that your MySQL database is always running efficiently. Vultr managed database clusters feature scheduled automatic updates, full logging and end-to-end security, as well as encryption at rest and in transit.

Our easy-to-use control panel gives you quick access to creating new users and databases, changing SQL modes, and more without having to SSH into the cluster's underlying VMs.

Vultr managed database multi-node clusters are highly available with automatic failover to replica nodes. But if something goes wrong, we provide a full backup of your data with point-in-time recovery.

Point-in-time recovery allows you to create a new database cluster from the latest backup or a specific date and time. After recovery, switch the application's configuration to connect to the new cluster with minimal service downtime.

With Vultr hosted databases, manual setup, upgrades, patches, and backups are a thing of the past!

Easy migration

Whether you're running your own MySQL database in a virtual machine or hosted elsewhere, you can switch to a Vultr-hosted database in just a few clicks. Enter your credentials for a publicly accessible database and we'll take care of the rest.

You can also use our migration tool to make a live copy of your primary database cluster. As long as your database allows replication, we use mysqldump to continuously replicate all data and schema. This way, if your primary database fails, you can quickly switch to a Vultr managed database.

Managed databases running on regular performance cloud computing instances start at just $15 per month and are generally ideal for small web applications.

When your database requires more power, we recommend that your database run on our general-purpose optimized cloud computing instances. These VMs ensure fast, consistent performance for your database by using fully dedicated 3rd generation AMD EPYC vCPUs. For particularly large databases, create your database using a storage-optimized cloud computing instance.
