What system can we install on our VPS host? Currently, the Brickworker VPS host can only install the Linux system and does not support the direct installation of the Windows system. If we need to install the Windows system, we can install it through DD. We will introduce it separately later. If we install the system normally, we can only choose Centos, Debian, and Ubuntu systems.

Today we are mainly sharing that among the three large mirror systems of the VPS host, which one should we choose? Which system should you choose among Centos, Debian and Ubuntu systems?

1. Each has its own characteristics

Of course, each system has its own characteristics. For example, the Centos mirroring system has now reached version 8.0+. Currently, the version we commonly use should still be version 7.0+. The official version no longer provides technical support and upgrades for versions below 6.0, so we currently try to use version 7+. The characteristic of centos is that it supports a lot of documents, which can be regarded as a relatively large number of documents. Especially our users in mainland China use Centos more. For example, the pagoda panel we use is also the best compatible with centos.

The Ubuntu version is a branch version of Debian. The commands are basically similar, but the former has the most software installations. It is directly built into the image and can be installed directly through apt. The debian image is the original version and is relatively stable. Especially when the server resources are insufficient, debian is more resource-saving.

2. Choose according to your needs

When we choose which image to use, it is based on actual needs. For example, we can use whichever one we are used to. For example, we will use whichever software installation tutorial we use, so that we have a reference for the installation process. For example, when we install the pagoda panel, we recommend using centos. For example, if we are compiling the environment to save resources, I personally like to use the Debian image.

For beginners, we recommend CentOS or Debian, both of which can run smoothly on VPS with lower configurations. However, if the VPS configuration is too low (OPENVZ memory is below 128M, or XEN architecture memory is below 192M), it is recommended to use Debian; otherwise, it is recommended to use CentOS to get more online help and support, making it easier to get started. CentOS, Ubuntu, and Debian are all excellent Linux systems.
